Nonprofit Donations

Thank you for your interest in the Bellevue Fire Department’s “Red Hot Ride to School” auction item donation program. We are pleased to offer this outreach to the community we serve.

Due to the overwhelming number of requests each year, coupled with staffing and budget constraints, it is necessary to limit the number of auction item donation opportunities.  We have authorized a total of six “Red Hot Ride to School” certificates to be awarded each calendar year (Jan 1 – Dec 31).

One of the certificates is designated for use during our annual Open House event in conjunction with Fire Prevention Week (October 8-14, 2017).  This item will be raffled off by way of a drawing.  Children are invited to complete a home fire escape plan at the fire station open house.  Once completed the child’s name will be entered into the drawing.  All fire stations participating in the annual Open House will be offering this opportunity to children.  Please visit our News & Events main page this fall for more information on date and time of the Open House at your neighborhood fire station.

The remaining five certificates (auction items) will be provided on a first come first served basis to nonprofits within the Bellevue Fire Department’s service area.  Each request for an auction item shall be made to the Bellevue Fire Department Community Liaison Office, via USPS mail, postmarked AFTER January 1st of each calendar year.  First come first serve basis will be determined by postmark.

Charitable organizations are required to provide appropriate documentation identifying their status as a 501(c)3 nonprofit group.  Requests by each organization are limited to one auction item only.  In addition, an organization that is awarded an auction item is thereby precluded from receiving an auction item the following calendar year.
